BAROPTIC SL (the original company) was founded in Barcelona, Spain in 1993 by Philippe BARBIER and Daniel RAULT, BAROPTIC coming from a contraction of their names, the place and the business area.

After a few months of existence, we realised – Spain not yet being part of Europe – that it would be preferable to have to distinct enterprises for Spain and for France, hence the creation of the BAROPTIC France business at the beginning of 1994.

The two companies are still exclusively aimed at opticians.

For the first few years all our products were made in Barcelona. Since then, in common with many other businesses in the optical field, we’ve widened our supplier base.

These days we offer a large range of glasses and sunglasses as well as a variety of related products (such as window dressing…).
